New Moon Sagittarius 2025

On December 19th we will experience our final new moon of 2025, in the sign of Sagittarius.  Giving us the opportunity to set intentions for the last couple weeks of this year and for the future into 2026.

Sagittarius is the sign of the quest seeker, the traveler, the philosopher, student, teacher, truth seeker and profit.

It is where we are meant to move forward with bold optimism.  Take educated risks and seek our truth. This new moon is showing us that we have to shed old habits, release parts of ourselves to manifest our desires.  Sagittarius optimism gives us the courage while its honesty allows us to understand there is difficulty in this.

As 2025 comes to an end we are being asked to not just hope for a better future.  We are being given the opportunity to set intentions for ourselves that shatter the glass ceilings we have created around our own lives. Realizing that we are limited by what we ourselves refuse to outgrow and let go of.  Where we place restrictions on ourselves. It is an opportunity to hit the reset button, think big and create opportunities for the future

While a moon in Sagittarius is going to be associated with optimism, forward movement and seeking.  The energy around the moon this year has a much wilder energy to it.  Asking us to think outside the box and pave a way through territory that has not yet been explored. To not get ourselves bogged down thinking that we can't do something because it's not realistic. Think about where you are putting those limits on yourself out of habit, an old fear, or a safety net.  It's time to let go of. However, this new moon is not just asking us to jump blindly or be reckless in our pursuits. It is giving us assistance through other planets asteroids in structuring and planning how we are going to best take this action.

You could feel that you are standing at a crossroads unsure about what is the best version of you and which parts of yourself you wish to hold on to and bring into the new year 2026. Some questions that you might ask yourself for better clarification around this idea are.

1. If I woke up tomorrow and did not care about anybody else's opinion what would be the first thing that I changed about my life?

2. What is one dream I have told myself I am not ready for yet, that I need more training, or that I don't feel like I have the right to do right now?

3. If I didn't have to worry about money and timing was not a factor what is one adventurous thing I would do? Project I would start? Place I would go for the sole reason that it makes me feel alive?

4. Looking back over the past year, are there any habits fears that it's time for me to let go of?  What would my life look like if I simply let them go today?

As you think about your answers it is important to remember that we are being given the opportunity to not only think big and to break  boundaries but to put this structure around intentionally building and setting the way for this new path forward. Reclaiming those dreams that had been previously dismissed as too much and too loud.

The goddess Hecate is standing right next to this new moon. Helping to guide us. Showing us the way as long as we have the courage to walk. While we acknowledge our crossroad, she shows us that there a third path that can be taken. Asking us to not just run blindly, but to seek out the path that is truly ours. To feel into our inner selves, our emotions and what we in the roots of ourselves desire.

Not just building and creating intentions around what we think others are expecting of us.

There is some fogginess and confusion on what this path is. Hecate is here to provide guidance and wisdom on how to move forward. Tapping into a wild and unruly form of intelligence. Not caring about modern social rules. Letting go of old rule books are not useful at this time. This is not about how things have always been but about aiming at a target that previously felt impossible.
