THE AQUARIUS FULL MOON

Good Morning, and happy Full Moon!

“It must be a full moon” is a common thought and statement when things are chaotic, strange, and wild behaviors are amplified.  And if we’re being honest, there is a real surge in intensity during a full moon.  Those who work with the public often witness this firsthand.  We see an increase in emergency room visits, and people working across multiple fields see their days becoming more chaotic.

But astrology gives us a much deeper understanding of why that happens—and how to actually use it to your benefit.

Why the Full Moon Feels So Chaotic (And How to Use It)

A full moon happens when the Sun and Moon stand directly across from each other with Earth sitting right in the middle. The Sun shines its full light onto the face of the Moon, turning the cosmic house lights all the way up. Side note. You can recognize a full moon on the astrological chart because the Sun (a round circle with a dot in it) is directly across from the Moon (a crescent-shaped moon)

The Moon in astrology rules our subconscious mind and emotional body-it is our subjective experiences of reality. When the moon is fully lit up by the sun it shines light on this  acting like a pressure release valve. The Full Moon doesn’t create chaos out of thin air; it brings suppressed emotions, unspoken truths, and unaddressed stress straight to the surface.

When you have people who have not learned to regulate big emotions, or deal with them in healthy ways, that surge of energy is misdirected.  Externally we see misaligned, reactive, confrontational, or aggressive behaviors. Internally,  it can show up as sickness, burnout and fatigue.

When we’ve been ignoring our boundaries, holding our breath, or trying to keep the peace at our own expense, the Full Moon amplifies that tension until we can no longer ignore it. That “chaos” people see is unexpressed energy making its way out.

How to use it to your benefit:

Instead of fighting with the Full Moon, and acting out, view the Full moon as a moment of emotional clarity. It is a spotlight showing you exactly what is no longer serving you, giving you permission to name it, feel it, and put it down. You don’t have to fix it today.  You don’t have to even deal with it today.  Just take a moment to observe.

Today’s Full Moon is in Aquarius.

While the Sun across the sky in Leo is about our individual identity and personal stage, Aquarius sits on the other side of the axis, asking us about belonging and community. It’s the part of us that looks at the bigger picture and asks: How do I fit into the collective landscape? What future am I building toward? What contributions am I making to the world around me? Where do I sacrifice the authentic version of myself to fit in?

There is an extra layer to what we are feeling coming from -the lunar nodes shifting into Aquarius and Leo. The nodes in astrology can be thought of as a collective compass

·      The South Node represents our comfort zone-habits, roles and defaults that we are outgrowing

·      The North Node represents our growth direction.  It is unfamiliar territory we are being called toward

If you feel extra tired or emotionally tender while processing this full moon, there’s a good reason for it.

For the last 18 months, we’ve all been living through a background transit along the Virgo and Pisces axis. That transit pulled us between two opposites:

 * The Virgo side kept pushing us to overthink, micromanage, fix what was broken, and maintain total control over every small detail so nothing would fall apart. We were being asked to release and let go of where we were overly involved in the Virgo side of things.

 * The Pisces side was quietly trying to teach us how to surrender—reminding us that you can’t schedule your way through grief, you can’t over-analyze your way into peace, and some things just have to be felt and allowed to heal in their own time. We were being asked to lean more into the Pisces side

We need both the hard-working organization of Virgo and the intuitive, relaxing flowing waters of Pisces.

Trying to balance those two forces can be exhausting. You aren’t imagining the fatigue. You are recovering from a long chapter of learning how to let go of total control. Doing the hard work but not seeing the results. If you look back over the last 18months to January 2025, the area of your chart impacted by the Virgo/Pisces axis is almost always where you have been carrying your heaviest load. We were being shown that we cannot control everything

Standing at the Threshold: The Clean Slate

That long Virgo/Pisces chapter has ended as the Lunar Nodes have shifted into Aquarius and Leo.

Stepping into these new signs could be a little jarring. You might feel a sudden urge to step away from the relentless hard work, the grind, and spiritual bypassing and into genuine community, creativity, fun, and authentic connection.

Transitions rarely feel clean or linear—they feel messy before they feel clear. If you feel like you’re standing between who you used to be and who you’re becoming, let this morning be your permission slip to just sit in the doorway for a moment. You don’t have to fix everything today. You just have to hold your own light.

A Few Questions for Your Daily Journal-

If you have a quiet moment today, sit with these questions:

 * What expectation or role am I genuinely ready to leave at the doorway?

 * Where am I being called to trade “keeping the peace” for true, authentic connection?

 * If I trusted that my inner purpose and outer life were getting a clean slate right now, what heavy thing would I choose to put down today?
